Our first outing for 2007. A warm-
Welcome to our new members, Alison, Ashley, Eileen and Mike.
Sadly we have lost Ali, Pip, Phil, and Paul.
Graham is still with us but sadly unable to dance at present.
The Swan Inn. St George's Sunday
We were once again invited to join Beltane, for their St Georges Day celebrations in sunny Dawlish.
We had a good crowd watching and the sun shone beautifully.
A great time was had, lots of good dancing was seen and we now look forward to the new season with enthusiasm
Frankensnight Weekend
We were invited to join Winkleigh on their bi-
The weather was wonderful, the company wonderful, the food wonderful, the beer wonderful and the scenery was wonderful. So what more can I say.

Thank you Winkleigh.
With Couptrain Morris
Fresh from their success at the Festival of Dance at the Royal Cornwall Show, Couptrain Morris from France joined us for an evening of music and dance
Polperro was as hilly as ever, but the weather was somewhat damp at times and we got a bit of a rest in the pubs, sitting out the showers. We still got lots of dancing done, and as always had a really good time.
A friendly pub which keeps a good pint and has an excellent dancing spot outside in the triangle. In the midst of a summer marred by rain and flooded festival sites, it was nice just to get out and dance in the sun.
Sunday on the Seafront with lots of other morris sides. Despite a horrendous weather forecast, yet again the sun shone.
Bideford Festival
Yet another rain-
Hobgoblin Folk Weekend -
This was the last minute replacement for the usual Cornwall Folk Festival, and it turned out to be a splendid weekend with a wonderful atmosphere. We danced in Molesworth Street with Beltane and Trigg, and it was one our most enjoyable dance spots of the season.
Beast Burning -
A celebration of the celtic New Year, with a lantern procession, fireworks and the burning of a wooden effigy of “the Beast”. Rain and high winds caused the event to be postponed for a week, but the following Sunday brought a fine, calm evening, and the old year was duly seen off with dancing and drumming, smoke and fire, and an enormous exploding rat!
Winter Celebration -
A church hall is an unusual venue for Cat’s Eye, but decked with greenery and filled with the spicy aroma of mince pies and mulled wine, it was a fine setting for a winter celebration, as was the candlelit church where a concert featuring local artists was held. The highlight of the evening was when Hanging Johnny joined in with us singing Nelson’s Blood for the first outing for one of our new dances.
Winter Solstice -
This was the day on which the long spell of dry, cold weather ended, and the southwesterlies took over and brought wind and drizzle with them. It didn’t spoil our planned tour of the Rame Head peninsula, though. We danced at the Cross Keys in Cawsand (with a small audience of people and dogs), played some music inside while it rained, then headed out to the car park at Rame Head to dance the sun down . We knew from the faint apricot tinge on the horizon that the sun was up there somewhere, so despite the horizontal drizzle we passed round the hipflask and danced for the seagulls, thereby ensuring the eventual return of summer.
We finished up at the Mark of Friendship in Millbrook for more dancing and music (and a feast of turkey for Sam), then partied the night away at Phil and De’s (and their neighbours!)
