Meet the Side

Current Members.          Old Members sadly missed.

Ashley

Our front man who travels all the way from beyond Penzance to dance with us. A great character who also plays guitar and sings, and also dances Cotwold and Appalachian.

Peter

Dancer and one of the original members of Cat’s Eye. Easily spotted on campsites in his specially adapted removals van.

Emma

Dancer, side Treasurer, and Peter’s other half, Emma knows how to turn a removals van into a home. Watch out for the spiky dog collar!

Eileen

Dancer, also sings and plays melodeon as a duo with Ashley, with whom she copes admirably. Also dances Cotswold and Appalachian.

Kevin

Flautist extraordinaire, beware his saxophone and other strange instruments

Pauline

Dancer, Squire and melodeon player. Another Cotswold and Appalachian dancer, and does a bit of traditional Cornish dancing given the chance. Plays in a band with Kevin (her other half), Phil and John.

Alison

Our bagperson, Alison only started dancing in 2006, but she’s a complete natural and an irrepressible character. Sings and plays bodhran in bands with Steve (her other half) and Mike.

Phil

Our 'Main Man'. All morris sides need a good melodeon player, and we've got him!

Sam

Every Morris side needs a dog. Sam is our laid-back spaniel.

John

A wonderful fiddler who also plays for  Kickin' Chicken.

De

As foreman, De keeps our practices under control and is forever writing new dances to keep us on our toes. She also dances Appalachian and looks after Phil.

Spencer

Sam misses his friend Spencer who is learning  the French for “Woof!”

Chris

Still dancing with Kickin' Chicken Appalachian, but has taken some time out from Cat’s Eye

Oscar

Another of Sam’s friends

Members who have sadly left us, but happily we still see many of them around and about.

Pip

Still dancing with Beltane and a formerly with Wreckers, Dartmoor and Lodestone.

Graham

Scary Ex-Squire who has danced with some of the best sides in the country.

Phil

Our financial man has secured sponsorship from Sharps Brewery.

Ali

Ex foreman, an experienced dancer who also dances with Beltane.

Paul

Founder member of Wreckers and creator of Cat's Eye, Paul is a life-long folkie.

Cat

Has returned to dance with Beltane, Cat is our kit designer and seamstress.

Polly

Amazing dancer, Appalachian guru and melodeon player.

Sally

Dancer. Musician. Foreman. Former Wrecker and veteran of many morris sides

Mike

One of our newer dancers, Mike had never danced before but he’s got the hang of it all now. Flautist and demon drummer.  Can often be spotted leaping around with a large camera.

Steve

Cracking good guitarist and sings splendidly as well

Martyn

Our newest recruit, but an experienced dancer who is a real asset to the side.
